Yeah, but enough about that. I was at Tuska Open Air last saturday and I saw Sabaton again. Great they were, as usual.

While their music is pretty nice, their “act” seems more like Hanoi Rocks on tour. Hell, their guitarists looked like visiting artist from Sturm und Drang. At least their bass player, Skinny, had some balls, but not enough to save the gig. And what a way for the singer to get the people excited; he tried to get the people to sing “Swedish bands rock, Finnish bands suck”. Perhaps it might have worked if the singer wouldn’t have had his head shoved so deep in his ass. Or perhaps it was his scarf that was in his ass.

Technically, they did a good job. But their stage performance sucked big time. What’s the point to go see them perform live then? I could have just listened to them at home.

Sabaton on the other hand rocked my world! There was nice variations in the songs (like tempo changes, different riffs and unexpected pauses). It pretty much was like live gigs should be; familiar songs with a nice lemon twist. And hell, the people there were so damn excited! And their singer was pretty touched by it (I thought that he was about to burst into tears at some point). He even got the damn heavy metal crowd to literally jump to the beat. If I would have gotten a free drink every time he thanked his audience, I think that wouldn’t be sober for a week.

It was a great gig and I recommend the band to everyone who enjoys live metal. I think I will make an armor mod for Fallout in a tribute to Sabaton…
